Top Belgian coach appointed 19 June 2006

Korfball New Zealand is delighted to have appointed Daniel De Rudder as senior international coach. Daniel brings an immense wealth of experience of international korfball to the role, including spells as national coach of his native Belgium, Chinese-Taipei, Poland and South Africa.

His high standing in the korfball world and terrific track record of working successfully with newcomers to international korfball will provide added inspiration for the New Zealand players and management team who have been working hard towards the two international tournaments in Taipei and Hong Kong over the coming weeks.

Daniel will join the New Zealand squad just prior to the Asia Oceania Korfball Championship in Hong Kong, commencing on 4 July. While remaining based in Belgium, subsequent to the tournament he will visit New Zealand on a regular basis for training camps, primarily to work with the New Zealand senior and youth squads.

Current senior squad head coach Tim Asby will continue to act as coaching co-ordinator of the New Zealand senior squad, and will work with Daniel in an assistant coaching capacity.
