Korfball New Zealand's latest national tournament will be played at Wellington's South West Stadium in Newtown this weekend; 16/17 September.
Six teams have entered - two from each of korfball's three New Zealand regions Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury.
It is one week short of nine years since Korfball New Zealand was initially founded in Christchurch, and just under two years since it became established as a truly national body with membership in the two North Island cities joining the Canterbury founders.
The Wellington event is the ninth national tournament or series over the two years since korfball was established north of the Cook Strait. Although the experience of Canterbury has tended to enable it to edge ahead in most of these events, recent growth in the North Island korfball centres promises to make the Wellington tournament very even.
