Canterbury has won the latest edition of Korfball New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship, retaining korfball’s ‘log of wood’ after a close series, just eclipsing Auckland in the crucial match by 11-10.

Wellington was desperately unlucky, drawing against both Canterbury teams and going down to Auckland by just one.

With six teams entered, two from each of korfball’s three regions, Auckland and Wellington’s second teams finished fifth and sixth respectively
