New Zealand's established regional korfball teams face a new challenge this weekend in the shape of a team coached by high profile netball coach Yvonne Willering.
The final round of Korfball New Zealand’s NZCT National Provincial Championship for 2008 will be played in Auckland over the weekend.
Former Silver Ferns coach Yvonne Willering has taken an active interest in korfball over the past few months, and has brought some prominent netball players with her to play in her team at the tournament, under the Counties Manukau banner.
Yvonne Willering and her charges will face stiff competition from Canterbury and Auckland, who have swapped ownership of the national korfball title over the past two tournaments this year.
Yvonne Willering and her players will be working with former coach of the Australian korfball team Helen Searle over the weekend to brush up on their korfball tactics.
Counties Manukau, Auckland and Canterbury will each be represented at the tournament by two teams, with one team attending from Wellington.
The Korfball New Zealand NZCT National Provincial Championship is at Waitakere Trusts Stadium on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November, with games starting at 9am on both days.
